Experience

Turing’s founder, Alex Black, has been a professional web developer since 1996, and has experience building web applications since 1993. He has acted as a project manager, system designer, web designer, and system administrator for over a hundred successful projects.

Turing uses only small teams of expert multi-disciplinary developers. Many of the developers we work with have high-level management and system architecture experience, and maintain their own independent projects.

System Design

Turing creates clean system designs that translate into coherent, readable code that is easy to manage. Because we pay special attention to the system’s structure and the functions, input, and output of each part – we code less and work faster, which reduces cost.

Web Design

Technical
Everyone involved in design for a project has a mastery of HTML, CSS, and Javascript. We’ve been working with HTML since Netscape 1.0 was a new product.

We hand code all HTML templates to ensure compatibility, and regularly perform compatibility checks with varying combinations of browsers and operating systems.

All of our designs are created with this knowledge in the background. We don’t have separate creative and technical departments (and the problems and cost that go with them).

Creative
We work with our clients to understand their goals for a design, and their aesthetic preferences. Using that knowledge, we create comps that satisfy both the technical requirements for a project and the creative ideal of the client. In most cases, the first or second pass on a design is the final pass. We work with clients in “real time” – over the phone or in person – to refine designs.

Inventions and Patents

Turing has created countless novel solutions to its Clients’ problems over the years, including one system that is patent pending. We bring a great deal of technical sophistication to any project, but we’re able to explain our methods to non-technical people because we understand what we’re doing. You can expect the same creativity will be applied to all of the problems that arise in this project.
